The
Singapore Hockey Federation (SHF) is the governing body for
hockey and its activities in Singapore. SHF was founded in
1992 when the Singapore Hockey Association and Singapore
Women's Hockey Association merged to form a single entity
SHF is a
registered charity under the Registry of Societies,
and has Institute of Public Character (IPC) status.
It is affiliated to the Singapore National Olympic
Council (SNOC), Singapore Sports Council (SSC), and
world and regional governing bodies - Federation
Internationale de Hockey (FIH), and Asian Hockey
Federation (AHF).
Hockey has a very rich heritage in Singapore - one
of only two sports that have sent a team to the
Olympics. SHF teams are consistently ranked amongst
the top in the region, and officials have been
selected to officiate at international events.
Today, hockey is actively played in SHF's various
leagues which cater to hockey enthusiasts at all
ages and skill levels. SHF has over 4,000 active
members registered and are playing in at least one
of SHF's nine leagues. These players represent the
40 over affiliates registered with SHF.
