Food Services, Korean Caterers, Korean Catering. Cold Spicy Korean Noodles in sunny
Singapore
As we
all know that Singapore is a hot all year round.
It's really a delight to have a cold meal for a
change – cold and delicious at the same time.
It's a Saturday night, after a long day, running
around town, Its comforting to end the day with
something soothing for my tummy. This is my 2nd
visit to Chowon Garden. The 1st visit was in
December for a friend's birthday. That was the first
time I tasted Korean Cold Noodles in Singapore and
it was really good. I haven't been to Korea so what
i have might not be authentic korean food,
regardless the noodle is really good so I had to go
back there again.
The dish is lay with ice on the base, noodle comes
with half an egg, slices of beef, pear, cucumber and
seasoning with spicy sauce and sesame seeds. On the
side is a bowl of cold soup, to be added base on
your personal preference. As you prepare to eat, you
mix all the ingredients together and a pair of
scissors is provided to cut the noodles into smaller
bites. I will recommend this dish if you like spicy
food and wanted something cooling in hot sunny
Singapore. The spicy cold noodles are not too spicy
and the slices of pear gives you an refreshing
experience.
If you can't take spicy, there's a non-spicy
version. The dish is enough to share among 2 persons
as a main course, aside from that, korean side
dishes are served to go with your meal.
Other then the noodles, I tried some of the other
dishes; The uncurb tofu soup in hotpot – which is
delicious as well. The tofu is very soft, it melts
in your mouth and you can't stop putting it into
your mouth once you start. The rice goes well with
the uncurb tofu soup on it.
The fried pork in spicy sauce – not so great, as the
meat is a bit tough. Otherwise the sauce is nice.
