The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Singapore (CIMS)
is the local branch of the Chartered Institute of
Marketing, U.K. (CIMUK).
The mission of the local branch is to actively seek
out new members and provide them with a sense of
belonging; and to maintain existing membership with
a view of providing networking for business
opportunities. In keeping true to the spirit of
marketing, the branch is also active in promoting
the CIM brand in the local context, thus moving away
from the euro-centric model, and strives to add
value to marketers living and working in Singapore.
Membership to CIMS is presently free to members and
students of CIM UK who are resident in Singapore.
However, as required by Singapore law, all members
have to apply separately to the Secretariat. CIMS is
a registered society under the Society Act, and
governed by constitution.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing is the only
professional marketing body to hold a Royal Charter
since 1989. This status is further enhanced by the
granting of individual Chartered Marketer status to
members by Privy Council on 1 October 1998.
Having Chartered Marketer status demonstrates that
you practice the highest professional marketing
standards by keeping your marketing knowledge and
skill current.
