Education Centre was established in 2007. We are
fully British owned and operated. We believe that an
overly financial 'bottom-line' oriented corporate
approach should not unduly dominate a school to the
detriment of the academic work, so for a better
experience by all stakeholders, we are run by
teachers for teachers and for our students. This is
a successful approach and illustrates the fact that
teachers are also managers and can be well capable
of operating schools.
Our academic standards are based primarily on the
British education system and its national quality
standards and we conform with the requirements of
the relevant Singapore quality bodies.
We provide high quality English language programmes
and in 2008 we introduced what is now probably the
best TESOL training course in the region.
We are responsive, understanding and flexible,
ensuring our TESOL students who are busy working
adults and parents are able complete the necessary
study and assessments.
From the beginning, we were registered as a school
with the Singapore Ministry of Education and we are
now in the process of transition towards enhanced
registration with the Council for Private Education,
the Government body that has taken over private
school matters in Singapore from the Ministry of
Education. Our Academic Board and Examinations Board
help us to implement and maintain high standards.
Our TESOL training centre is in the heart of the
city at 44A Club Street. We have excellent resources
and our trainers are English native speakers. You
can choose to take the course by morning classes
(four mornings a week over eight weeks), evening
classes (three evenings a week over twelve weeks) or
by an intensive one-month combination of the two.
Our classes are international (nineteen
nationalities to date) and we train about 100
teachers a year. Join us in what is probably the
